Well, I’ve got some much needed down time today and am finally able to check in.
I’ve got some diet issues that I’m addressing (I was enjoying too much beef jerkey and nuts, it seems.) I have been elevating and icing my legs for the last 3 days and they weren’t getting better, so I had to get offroute today. I’ve been taking anti-inflammatory meds and also riding short days. The big mistake that I was making was too much protein and not enough carbs or water.
So, I just had a pasta/soda binge at pizza hut and then stocked up on lots of water and cookies/bars for the night. I’m staying at a hotel and doing the ice/elevation thing and am hoping to be back on tomorrow.
Thank you all for your awesome support and we’re still fighting! I also need to send out a SUPER SPECIAL “get well” to a SUPER SPECIAL CAROL ANN who had a bad bike wreck. I hope you feel better soon and I’ll be thinking of you out there.
Hopefully, my next update will be from a hundred miles down the road tomorrow afternoon – take care everyone and thanks for the good thoughts and lovin!
Mary

My Girlfriend and I are “Blue Dot Junkies” mostly because of you…We’re rooting and praying for you.
About your legs… Metabolic waste is acidic (lactic etc.) Any thing high in minerals (alkaline) will help with the ph balance.-Biker Myth- Tums has calcium and magnesuim like Sport Legs, just not as good. (Might be avilable at a 7-11 in the middle of nowhere)
Your legs are retaining water as in order to dilute the acidity… Flushing the waste wih more water is GOOD. Also, high fiber food absorbs waste out of the blood stream thru the Lrg. intestine, making it easier on kidneys… important.

At 2:05 pm CDT, it looks like Mary and Chris P are very close to each other. I don’t know if they know, but they appear to be rocking it to Lima.
Its amazing how many families are locked into the drama of these little dots.

Hey, I would much rather be a blue dot sunkie than a blue light special KMart junkie. LOL Maybe someone will invent a bikers trailmix called blue dot. HA. Good luck to everyone. Marie
